of basic planning and the opening day celebration."
From January,
1961 through September,1963 the Communications and Public Relations
Department of the 1964/1965 New York World's Fair Corporation
published a series of nine detailed reports to keep interested
parties abreast of developments at the Fair.

Today these reports
provide a wealth of information about how the 1964/1965 New York
World's Fair came to be. This offering features the reports
issued by the Fair Corporation in 1962. These three issues
contain a total of 203 pages of photographs and information.
They document the announcement of some of the Fair's greatest
triumphs such as General Motors' participation with it's Futurama
ride, the beginning of construction for other major industrial
and transportation exhibits. They present artist's conceptual
drawings for international and state exhibits and show how the
Fair defended itself against a growing chorus of critics amidst
the controversy surrounding the lack of Bureau of International
Expositions endorsement for the Fair. In short, these reports
document the actual start of construction for the last great
World's Fair America has seen.

can be extremely difficult to find on the collectibles
market. Although this CD offering cannot be considered a "collectible"
the reproductions of the reports are an invaluable resource for
anyone who is interested in the Fair and its history. This CD
provides everyone with the opportunity to own reproductions of
some vary rare, unique and important World's Fair historical
documents.
